QCC Tavern Manager: Belladonna Maddox

Taverns -  Qualification and Registration

For the purposes of the QCC and its Taverns, a Tavern will be any establishment that is regularly open to the public and whose primary source of income lies in the serving of drink, or of food and drink, or of food, drink, and lodging.  This would include Taverns, Inns, Bars, Pubs, Cafes, and Restaurants.

When registering your Tavern, you have the choice of making it an AIM room or an AOL public room.  AIM rooms are useful as there are a growing number of individuals who do not use AOL and participate within the QCC using AIM only. You may wish to have two types of rooms for your tavern; one as an AOL public room where anyone interested may enter and participate, and one as an AIM room for possible QCC Event Activities. In those instances it would be recommended to use the same room name for both types of rooms.

Types of Taverns:

1. House Taverns - Each House is allowed three (3) taverns per house, owned and operated by one individual manager/House member with as many employees as they desire to hire on.  The House is responsible for paying the salaries and for the supplies, if any. All profits belong to the House to be dispensed as they see fit, though any employees should understandably be compensated for their time and efforts spent keeping it running.  Salaries can be done weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or on an hourly basis, whichever the manager deigns appropriate!
2. Independent Taverns - Independent taverns are owned and operated by an individual/independent who has membership within the QCC.  An Independent QCC member is considered the manager, and may have one (1) Tavern, but as many employees as they enjoy keeping on.  All profits earned by the individual go to them to be divided up as they see fit between their Tavern account, themselves, and any employees they hire.

All taverns are required to have at least some sort of minimally descriptive web page for the tavern, before registration can take place.  If this represents a difficulty, please contact a member of the QCC Council.
To register your tavern please use the link below and fill out the form there completely.  Your registration here will also be used to update the merchant directories.  You do not have to file separately!

Tavern Earnings - Activity and Earnings

Beginning in 2007, all Taverns Mangers must prove activity within their taverns during the current month to be eligible for the 500 qc flat rate bonus.  It is assumed that your tavern is open regularly and, therefore, it is earning an income.  Tavern earnings are paid out by the QCC Main Bank at the beginning of each month so long as the proof of activity log was submitted during the previous month.

This required proof of activity may be presented in one of two forms:

1 - One (1) log sent verifying activity in the form of live role-play for a general minimum of one or two hours time, having occurred any time during the current month. Those wishing to send in a log to demonstrate activity within their tavern would send it to the QCC Council, (copy/paste only, no attached files, please).  The entire log from opening to closing is not necessary, just a good amount of activity, with no required amount of attendance (role-play between two or three people would be acceptable).  At bare minimum this log would show role play activity within the setting of the tavern, to justify the assumption it is open and would be earning an income.

2 - This activity could also take the form of the tavern hosting a QCC Event of some sort appropriate to the tavern. Suggestions would be a darts tournament, a gambling night, a drinking contest, a wine tasting, a tavern brawl and so on. The Event would be presented to QCC and entered on its calendar, and posted on the QCC Message Board to earn an additional 25 qc for the post itself. Scheduling will take place on a first come first served basis, but is not limited strictly to one Event on any given day, though some may want to consider the conflicting times to allow people the time to attend either.

It is recognized that considerable creativity, time, and effort goes into the conception, planning, and execution of an Event. For that reason any Tavern hosting an Event will be paid a 500 coin bonus for hosting on top of the 500 qc monthly activity bonus. That bonus would be paid to the House's Tavern(s) and would be paid the month the Event is held. The host would be required to submit an attendance report so those attending may be paid for participation.

It should be noted that hosted Events are not exclusively restricted to invitation purely to the QCC, anyone may be invited to your Tavern or Tavern Events, regardless of their QCC or non-QCC affiliation without repercussion!  Tavern Event hosts may use the Voluntary Mailing String to advertise their Events twice a month - once to announce their event, and a second time the day before or the day of the Event to remind people.

Attendance Reports for Events-

It's very important that Attendance Reports are thorough and accurate to ensure Houses and Independents who attended receive credit!  There should be a list included of each individual (screen name) who participated a fair amount (played regularly for an hour or so), along with their association (House or Independent status).  Tavern Attendance Reports should be turned in within a few days after the Event to ensure ample time to assemble the QCC Main Bank pay-outs!
