QCC Racing additions! Ideas
and edited text authored by Belladonna Maddox [ roseofmalice ]:
Added-Money purses -
When the
lineup goes out, a deadline will be given for individual
sponsorships of any race on the card. For example, Belle sponsors
Race #XYZ and puts up 800qc to double the purse for Win, Place and
Show because her horse is running in that race and it's his
birthday. For another example, Hope puts up X amount of qc because
it's her parent's anniversary and she sponsors a certain race in
their name. [ For the December races, send your money and race
sponsor information to
qccracing@questcoin.com]. Your information should include your
name, your house and/or treasurer's name, the amount you want to
sponsor, the specific race you wish to sponsor, as well as the
reason for sponsoring that race.
Claiming - There
were also be the option to have a claim horse listed, starting
with the Feb/March season. A
claiming race is one in which the horses carry a price tag for
which another owner or trainer can buy the horse out of the race.
The price will be set with the track steward, and is the one
who handles all the deals. If no one "claims" the horse before the
race goes off, the original owner keeps him. If he is "claimed"
before the race goes off, regardless of outcome, the new owner
keeps the horse. The sale price is non-negotiable and the sale is
final. No returns, and the former owner can not rescind the sale
offer after it is posted. The race entry form already has a
comment section. Owners should indicate in the comments section
which slotted horses they would like to put up for claim and the
price. Once the form is submitted, there are no takebacks. We'll
simply make a notation of a claiming price on the regular lineup,
remind the announcers to announce when a horse is up for claim and
then call the race. We'll either set up a specific Claiming Form
with all the other automated forms, or require a time-stamped
e-mail to "the track steward" be sent before the official start
time of the race. Regular
rules concerning increasing stable size and transfers still apply.
Shop owners ~ if you attended one of the November market, all you have to do to earn 350 qcoins is to also send out a flyer advertising your shop [ to voluntary@questcoin.com] , then fill out the paperwork [ Shop Certification Form ]. You'll also receive a certificate you can display in your shop window. With a two day bazaar coming up, it should be very easy for you to make some extra spending money. Speaking of the bazaar, this will be a pure two day shopping opportunity, allowing everyone to get their shopping done and for the vendors to get all their holiday orders lined up. A lot of time and diligence go into these shops, so please patron them this winter season. Though, if you know what you want ahead of time, it will give the shopkeepers extra time to prepare their deliveries for later.
Next update will be Dec 15th.

[ Mailstring reminders: Members string can be used for Initial
shop announcements once, or events may use it for an initial
announcement and then a following reminder. Additional mailings
should go to the Voluntary string. If you aren't signed up on the
Voluntary, you may be missing things like monthly merchant flyers! QCC
Voluntary Mailstring ]
[ For 50 qcoins ~ Go sign up at the QCC
Merchant Community Site!,
All the merchant information is
now there and easily searchable. ]
[ Quality of merchant email deliveries are just as important as your stock. If all you do is cut and paste the picture of your item, and don’t include any item or delivery descriptions, your customer probably won’t return. Those spending their qcoins want to feel they’ve gotten their ‘moneys worth’. Things that have proven to work are rp’d descriptions of the shop and/or delivery method, some do bigger item descriptions than what is on the shop site, bonus items, graphics of the included note cards, thank you gifts included with the receipts. Anything to give the buyer satisfaction.
Do not include the prices or bill total on the actual delivery. A player may be planning to forward the email to someone as a surprise during roleplay. Receipts should always be done separately from delivery. ]
[ After the holidays, we will be doing checking on links and information on the various QCC houses, treasuries, businesses, taverns, and stables. This is a bit of a heads up, so you can look over the site if you think about it and make sure everything that pertains to you is correct. ]

This mailing list is made up of QCC members who have consented to be on it. The purpose of this list is to allow business announcements and flyers to be sent to those groups and individuals that welcome the information and intend to distribute it to their members. This mailing list does not replace any mailing lists compiled by individual businesses or event hosts from their own patrons and customers. Being a member of the QCC does not automatically put you on this list! It is by request only. Sign yourself up if you want to receive Voluntary mailings. QCC Member Mail List Any QCC members who wish to be on the QCC Members' Mail List to receive QCC Updates directly from the Council should send a note to council@questcoin.com to be added to the list. This does not take the place of the Voluntary Mail List. Sign-up for the Voluntary Mail List is still self service and you'll find the sign-up page here: QCC Voluntary Mailstring **Mail List Notes: We don't care if the addresses on the mail lists are for RP characters or not. If you have AIM characters and you want to put a non-RP address on the mail lists to get the QCC notices, that's fine with us. |
