From the Director's Desk...

The Jousting circuit for the year is complete, and we'd like to congratulate the top six finishers with 1000qc bonuses for going wire-to-wire for the entire grueling season. Next year we are looking to make the circuit shorter in length, with greater stakes.

Right now is an EXCELLENT time to update your shops. People like to see new merchandise for the holidays! Don't forget merchants, you get to send one advertising flyer per month.
( to voluntary@questcoin.com.  Do not use the members string for that. If you like to receive extra qcc ads and announcements, please be sure to sign up for the voluntary string: http://questcoin.com/mailman/listinfo/voluntary_questcoin.com  ).

Next update will be December 1st.

[ Changes coming after the first of the year: Taverns will no longer be rolled on a percentage system. There will be a flat bonus for each month the tavern sends in activity requirements.  Shops/shoppers too are also being considered for a flat bonus for generating business each month.

There are several shops that were at one time registered in the QCC, but the muns involved no long had time to devote to keeping them updated and successful..or simply don't have the time for existing ones.. the sites however exist. If you are interested in 'managing' one of these shops short-term for November and December holiday sales, and your character keeps the profits, contact council! Requirements would be to take care of advertising and order fulfillment for the next month and a half.  Shops available are: Dakhla Oasis exotic clothing, Decadence romantic gifts, Black Isle Woods furniture, Harbor Lights candles, Regal Splendor furniture, Guardian Mountain Needlework, The Golden Lyre musical instruments. ]

From Madje's Messy Desk...

Hello everyone!!

Your friendly neighborhood Crow, Madje, here! I just wanted to let everyone know that in addition to Merchant Spotlight Interviews, I will also be interviewing members of the Quest Coin Coalition! If you're interested in being interviewed, please don't hesitate to let me know!

I'd also like to remind everyone that Houses whom host Tavern Events receive 500 qc for their efforts, and there colder winter months would be a great time to take advantage of the season and get everyone together for something fun!  Simply drop the Council a note and we'll post it up on the calendar, you can send flyers, too, of course - one a week before, and another the day-of to remind everyone!  It'll be great fun, let's all get together!

     Sincerely,
        Madje!

COMMENTS: Welcome to Skye Stables and Equestrian Center, owned and operated by Lady Alexandra Skye in Telarus.  All the beautiful equines here come from generations of careful breeding of the almost long forgotten Horse Lords of Epona.  Most of these lines were started years and years ago by the Lady Alex's great grandfather, grandfather, and father... And today, in Telarus as well as in her home Valley she carries on this grand tradition with a racing stable as well as an Equestrian center that caters to all types of equine schools of riding.

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

QCC Interviews:

"Shall we get started on the interview now, Yl? I know we're running a little short on time, so I'll try not to keep you for too long."

Ylyla:

"Aye, I suppose. Though, we can always forget the interview and go for a stroll on the beach instead...."

QCC Interviews:

"We can interview while we stroll on the beach, unless it's too hard to speak and walk at the same time?"

Ylyla:

"You'd be amazed the things you can do while walking and speaking isn't one of the hard ones. I'd prefer that, though."

QCC Interviews:

"What could possibly be harder to do while walking - besides chewing gum, or patting your head and rubbing your tummy?"

"So, I've wondered now since I met you - what is your full name, because I've only ever called you Ylyla for as long as I can remember."

Ylyla:

"No, I can't tell you... it'd spoil your innocence."

    "Hmm..."

"Well, Ylyla is my full name. Though I've been known to use the clan name Ta'anari, if a second name is required. Otherwise, I'm more comfortable with just Ylyla."

QCC Interviews:

    "Au, of course."

"You mean you don't have a long string of names? Au, that's all right, though, I suppose I only have one real name and one nickname, plus a few clan names..."

"I was going to ask you how old you were next, but I know I should never -ever- ask a woman her age, so...Where were you born, and where did you grow up when you were little? What was your childhood like?"

Ylyla:

"No... though I assure you I've gone by more names than just Ylyla, but that was my given name or as close to what it's translated as, as this language will allow."

"Hey, that's like three entirely different questions at once!"

"I wasn't born...as you'd think of birthing and where I came from is far, far away from here."

"Umm... I grew up in the place I was made and I can't say that I had a childhood, Madje...."

"If I did it was short and I don't remember much of it..."

QCC Interviews:

    "Au, I see!"

"Ha ha, I'm allowed to ask a
bunch of questions, aren't I?"

"Did you come from The Heavens?"

"Tell me a bit more about yourself, about your history here in the Quest Coin Coalition? I know you've been around for quite a long time!"

Ylyla:

"No, Madje. Not even close. You have to understand...what I was..was not permitted, I was exiled to this world and the one who had made me was executed for that crime. It was no where even near the Heavens, Madje."

"My history in the QCC.... well I was introduced to the QCC when my sister finally convinced me to join the Rise of the Black Sun. Back then I was more...active than I am now... I threw myself into any opportunity that came around... I've dabbled in the taverns, I've owned a stable, I've managed shops, I've been a treasurer.... Though it's the stables that have kept my interest all this time..you know I'd like to start another one soon."

QCC Interviews:

"Au, RBS? Aou'me mentioned that once, too - you seem active enough to me, look at you, moving around, breathing."

"I remember Taidrache stables and the beautiful horses you raced there - and you were my treasurer when I was in Rivenrose Clan with you! I'm really excited to hear that you're going to start up a new stable again, I was wondering when you'd take up racing. I think it's wonderful, I remember how well you did working with your horses. It was an inspiration to me, too, you know."

"Could you tell me about how you met Riyadha? I know that you aren't really related by blood, and I'm sure there are quite a few people wondering by now. And, au, Riya's always bringing up this raspberry ale - what's the deal with that notion?"

Ylyla:

    "Aye, RBS."

"Trust me, I did more then than I do now.  I know, you've told me... We'll see how well it goes this time. How I met Riya?"

"Well... I used to have an adopted brother named Halos... Halos happened to also have another adopted sister, Riya... since the day he introduced us, we've been sisters since we mutually agreed to adopt each other too."

"Hmmm....Well... since I've come to this world raspberries have been a sort of...aphrodisiac for me... and Riya brews her Wicked Green Ale. Since I've first tasted the stuff, I've been trying to convince others not to drink it because it's so terrible! Negative advertisement, if you will. It doesn't seem to have stopped people much...anyways, the raspberry flavor was meant to be a line to cater more towards my tastes. Since I helped come up with the idea, we had to name it Sexy Green Ale. The raspberries don't really help it enough, though...."

QCC Interviews:

"Auuu, I've heard of Halos, I think - an aphrodisiac, ay? Well, that solves a bit of the mystery but - I happen to like ale very much, thank you! Maybe instead of trying to get you to drink ale, Riya could make up a raspberry liquor for you instead!"

"Speaking of raspberries, tell me a bit more about your other fa
vorite things! What are your favorite colors? Things to eat? Past-times? I'm guessing your favorite animal is a horse, takka?"

Ylyla:

"Riya's probably mentioned him to you."

"I'll stick with my raspberry juice...to mix it is a crime."

"My favorite colors? Purple... beyond that I don't care too much as long as it goes with my hair."

"Things to eat... well, breads and cheeses and fruits mostly. Past-times...."

"Well... I love to dance and take walks on the beach...and spend time with those I love...."

"Umm... I suppose I am partial to horses...though I could say dragons also at risk of being flamed by the dragon friends I've known... really I like all animals."

QCC Interviews:

"I think raspberry juice is great mixed into alcohol, especially champagne."

"I still think it'd be wonderful if you opened up a club so we could have a place to dance together, but those all sound like great, healthy things to partake of.  You have dragon friends? Au - I should stick to interview. What sort of things would you like to see happen with the QCC in general? Any Events you would find fun to participate in, in particular? And....ahm...what sort of gifts would you like for Yule?"

Ylyla:

"No, it's definitely best by itself!"

"Well, not so much anymore...but I used to have a few very good ones... it's just best not to ever anger a dragon since you never know when they'll reappear. And about that club...That'd only happen if I had help and more money...both of which I don't possess right now...to run it how I want it to run, I'd need staff...servers, other dancers, a building..."

"What things would I like to see happen in the QCC? More things that get a wider cross-section of people involved... So much of what is done excludes many people... watching races doesn't excite everyone, most people don't joust or want to joust... shopping can be appealing or not... The mixers, despite their name... aren't really a setting, I think, that they can actually perform their function. At this stage in my life, I would prefer events that make sense for me to participate in... It's been so many years since the types of events I used to enjoy, I don't know that I'd enjoy them anymore.... I guess what I'm saying is, I want new and a wider variety of things. I have a few ideas myself, but I want to be surprised too!"

"Umm...I don't really want things that can be wrapped up... Like I want the house to be finished by then, but I don't expect that... I've never been very comfortable with receiving gifts, Madje... I'm sorry."

QCC Interviews:

"It's wise not to piss off dragons, takka, they could just roll right over you if they felt like it and crush you! And, I'd come dance at your club if you needed dancers - I don't have such a nice body as a woman, though."

"I'd love to hear your ideas on events, too, I really enjoyed Pursuit when you hosted that, by the way! What would you consider sensible for you to participate in at this, au, stage in life? Maybe we could organize a dance competition or something so you could have a chance to share your talents with others! What do you think would make the races more exciting to watch? Maybe give-aways or drawings?"

"Au! You can wrap a house.  All right, then..."

Ylyla:

"Umm hmm... or burn you to a crisp before you could blink...."

"I'm not sure exactly Madje...I've grown tired of tournament-style events... something else than that that's competitive would be nice.... A dance competition...eh... I don't think that'd be a good idea.. most people aren't used to the kind of dancing I know best.... I don't know what could make the races more exciting to watch...you can't make every event appeal to everyone, it's just not going to happen....

Maybe more time to intermingle... an intermission each night? Maybe an occasional way to get people involved, like that one time there was a race made up of people from the audience.... I don't think a give-away or drawing would help... those happen all the time... and they suffer what all events suffer...if they are done too frequently, they are not unique, appealing, or exciting. If you don't win this time, there will always be another... you understand?"

"Umm, not if it isn't built yet!"

QCC Interviews:

"I know there are a fair amount of Ladies who do not or cannot partake of tournament-style events like sparring or weaponskills. I think it would be fun to have people from the audience race - when did they do that?"

"You do have a point, Ylyla, I understand - I just wish more people would step forward and offer their suggestions so the QCC could serve them better."

"Au, your home isn't built yet? You should ride on the contractors' heels about that till they get it done! Then I'll come and wrap your house for you, and you can disintegrate it with a spell."

Ylyla:

"Umm...I'm not sure, it was during my time in RBS... so probably about 4 years ago."

"I don't want the QCC to try to control more events, it's doing quite enough as it is... I'd rather encourage houses and individuals to invite others to events they hold...unique to their own. The more the QCC does in that area, the less houses can do...and that is bad. Perhaps you should think more about how to encourage that instead of what more the QCC can do."

"Umm... August is building it pretty much by himself...he can only go so fast."

QCC Interviews:

"Qua, yes, that was quite a while before I joined."

"I understand that, too - I wonder if the Houses feel the same way? We've tried to ask them about holding more events, they even upped the coins offered for hosting, but I'm not sure what else we can do to encourage them. I'll speak with everyone - or try to - and see what they say, I know some Houses are more active than others. Maybe some just want to be left alone? Au, poor August! If he needs help, I can find him some help
if he needs it! I just hope it doesn't snow where you're building your home!  I should let you go so you can get back and begin making August supper - we can't have him starving before he finishes your home!"

Ylyla:

    "Aye...it was..."

"Maybe some other reward than money or items... And if they wanted to be left alone, they shouldn't have joined a public forum."

"I think he wants to do most of it by himself...something he made for me, you know? Uhhh...he doesn't let me cook anymore....But I should be getting back before he starts to worry."

QCC Interviews:

"I feel so young sometimes when I think about things like that."

"That's true enough! What else could they be rewarded that they'd like, do you think? Property? Grants of Land? Titles? A kiss from a handsome man or a beautiful woman?"

"He's like a weaverbird trying to build his mate the most impressive nest ever! I, au - well, never you mind, but you both look like you're eating healthy enough! Thank you for coming to visit me, Ylyla, I'm glad I got to interview you a little!"

"Please take care, and I hope to see you again soon!"

ABOUT OUR MAILSTRINGS

QCC Voluntary Mailstring

This mailing list is made up of QCC members who have consented to be on it. The purpose of this list is to allow business announcements and flyers to be sent to those groups and individuals that welcome the information and intend to distribute it to their members. This mailing list does not replace any mailing lists compiled by individual businesses or event hosts from their own patrons and customers.

Being a member of the QCC does not automatically put you on this list! It is by request only. Sign yourself up if you want to receive Voluntary mailings.

Mail List Alert

If you receive mail list alerts for any of the QCC mail lists, please forward them to council@questcoin.com. Sometimes when we are updating the mail lists, an SN gets put back into the signup list. That auto-generates a privacy alert that gets mailed to you. If you'll forward those alerts to the council, we'll know you got it. It was most likely triggered by something we did; but if we didn't do it, we'll certainly want to know. :)

QCC Member Mail List

Any QCC members who wish to be on the QCC Members' Mail List to receive QCC Updates directly from the Council should send a note to council@questcoin.com to be added to the list. This does not take the place of the Voluntary Mail List. Sign-up for the Voluntary Mail List is still self service and you'll find the sign-up page here:  QCC Voluntary Mailstring

**Mail List Notes: We don't care if the addresses on the mail lists are for RP characters or not. If you have AIM characters and you want to put a non-RP address on the mail lists to get the QCC notices, that's fine with us.
