As we move into summer there are a few things to take note
of:
The Classic Challenge Derby will have a new addition starting with the
B'Ateria Stakes race in June. Each Derby will be followed immediately by a
derby party where members can mingle, much like the monthly mixers. On
that note, the mixer for May was a great success, thank you to those who
attended!
The first Open Forum
night will be held in June. This will be a chance to meet and generally
discuss QCC topics. This can include questions, comments and
suggestions, from you and well as what's on the horizon with qcc
activities, and possibly how-to info given for newer members. [ this may
be IC and OOC ].
A questions/suggestions/comments box
has been added, and
constructive notes can be left ... anonymously if wished. If there are
particular questions that appear frequently, they will be addressed in
future updates. This in no way replaces direct council contact, but
allows for anonymity or things that spring up at odd hours as they're
thought of.
The return of
Non-Equestrian racing is on the horizon! The hopeful target is July, with
NE races every other month. That segment of racing is being managed by
Belladonna Maddox [RoseofMalice]. She is working to set up the new
guidelines, and we will get them to you as soon as we can.
Next update will be June 15th.
[ Activity requirements for the second quarter must be in by June 30th. As of 6/1 people can start rolling for 3rd quarter tavern earnings, if they have fulfilled the activity requirement. ]

QCC Message Board-
Introductory posts earn coins. While the mailstrings have limiting
guidelines, members may use the board for things like merchant
business flyers as often as they wish. The message board link has been
added under the "Coalition" section.]

**With the number of new houses and individuals growing every day, it has become necessary to ask people attending events to declare their affiliation so that event attendance checks are issued to the right places.
Recently a conversation was held with Bell, the owner of a new QCC
Shop,
Wizards Ink.

::Her smile growing.:: Your shop is one of the newer ones, and with
a wide variety of items offered as well.
Bell:
I'm adding more, too, lots of stuff from my old one...::laughs:: So
much inventory, so little room.
QCC:
So... Tell me about your shop. ::head tipping slightly to one side
as she listened.:: I know ye had a shop before. Ye were with a
House back then?
Bell:
I was with Grinning Gargoyles, back then ::laughs at a memory::
Thane used to take care of all the math for me then ::takes a seat
next to Des, and pours them both cups of coffee:: Well, right now, I
have all sorts of magical accessories, wands, cauldrons, crystal
balls, I have some tarot cards somewhere, too...but I'm working on
the clothing line, which..I suppose is a second shop..is that okay
to have two shops?
QCC:
Oh most definitely. ::nodding and taking the coffee:: Many have
more than two shops. Are there any items that are already proving
to be popular?
Bell:
::laughs lightly:: Well, that peacock lamp seems to be doing quite
well...I shall have to get a few more in stock!
QCC:
::a sip of the coffee:: Mmmm... excellent. Ye sell coffee as well
in Wizards Ink. ::Taking another sip:: How did ye come to name the
shop "Wizard's Ink"?
Bell:
::thinks a bit and considers:: Well..I wanted something
clever....and I had just gotten all those fabulous wands..so I was
thinking wizard...wizards write spells..spells use ink...and since
it was a shop, I wanted it to sound like that...::laughs;: Voila!

QCC:
Which brings to mind the next question... ::smiling:: your
sources. Or would ye rather naut divulge them as business secrets?
Bell:
::a merry giggle:: Well the jewelry and clothing I make myself, the
coffees and teas and candles...but the other little bits? ::leans
close and whispers:: fairies!
QCC:
::blink blink:: fairies... ::slow nod:: mmhmm. ::Rae was the one
who knew about fairies.... Des just nodded again:: I am told they
do bite.. so please be careful. ::Moving along with the interview
questions:: Ye were a part of the QCC before and had a successful
shop back then, and Wizards Ink seems to be fast becoming equally
successful. Do ye have any advice to offer someone looking to start
a business within the QCC?
Bell:
Advice? Advice..::thinks:: Well, a social personality is key, if you
can't build a network of customers...sales will be slow..also..sell
what you love...
Bell:
And go High End ::nods::
QCC:
::nodding:: Truly excellent advice... ::chuckling at her
addendum:: Tis about all the questions I have... just one more
question and I shall finish the interview.... Why should someone
shop at Wizards Ink?
Bell:
::blinks and chuckles:: Well, whyever not? Why deny yourself and
those you love the finer things in life? That's like torture!

The purpose of this list is to allow business announcements and flyers to be sent to those groups and individuals that welcome the information and intend to distribute it to their members. This mailing list does not replace any mailing lists compiled by individual businesses or event hosts from their own patrons and customers.
Being a member of the QCC does not automatically put you on this list! It is by request only. Sign yourself up if you want to receive Voluntary mailings.
Mail List Alert
If you receive mail list alerts for any of the QCC mail lists, please forward them to council@questcoin.com. Sometimes when we are updating the mail lists, an SN gets put back into the signup list. That auto-generates a privacy alert that gets mailed to you. If you'll forward those alerts to the council, we'll know you got it. It was most likely triggered by something we did; but if we didn't do it, we'll certainly want to know. :)
QCC Member Mail List
With the ease of use afforded by the web based QCC Member List, the Council has decided to open the list up to all QCC members. Up until now, we restricted it to GCs and treasurers because of the constraints put on us by AOL's mail system rate limits. Taking the mail list away from AOL has been just one more step in freeing the QCC from such constraints.
Any QCC members who wish to be on the QCC Members' Mail List to receive QCC Updates directly from the Council should send a note to council@questcoin.com to be added to the list. This does not take the place of the Voluntary Mail List. Sign-up for the Voluntary Mail List is still self service and you'll find the sign-up page here: QCC Voluntary Mailstring
**Mail List Notes: We don't care if the addresses on the mail lists are for RP characters or not. If you have AIM characters and you want to put a non-RP address on the mail lists to get the QCC notices, that's fine with us.
