In order to better serve the community and to get things accomplished on a more timely basis, updates will now be completed on a different rotation. Updates will be completed by one week after the races and again two weeks later. This will hopefully alleviate the problems with betting results, etc always being so late. ((OOC: I apologize to those who have voiced their concerns over the timing of the updates and hope this new schedule will alleviate those delays.))
I felt the message from the April 1st newsletter was important enough to be repeated. As such:
It's time to get more involved!! For those who are seeking a way to become more involved or to meet more of your fellow Coalition members, we have come up with several different methods to accomplish this while earning yourself a bit of coin as well:

A one time stipend of §50 - §100 will be granted to each member for writing up an introduction of yourself in the "Member Introductions" in the "QCC Library" ((Message Board)). The amount granted will depend on the depth of your introduction and be at the sole discretion of the QCC Council. All introductions must include information regarding your House affiliation, in order for proper credit of the stipend.

We will begin to hold a Monthly Mixer in the common room at the QCC Hall, with the first Mixer anticipated to be held in May. Every person who attends and remains for at least half an hour will receive §50 for their attendance. Houses will not receive any attendance stipend for this event, as it is geared solely toward individual members of the QCC getting together to socialize, regardless of their House affiliation.

We will award a §100 bonus for all merchants who attend the monthly QCC Market and actively promote their wares for at least an hour. From those merchants qualifying for the §100 bonus, the QCC Council will perform a random drawing to double that bonus for one of those merchants.
We have begun to notice a trend in House treasuries, whereby funds which have not yet been released in the form of Main Bank Checks are added to those treasuries ahead of schedule. Please note that, until funds are formally released, those funds are not considered available.
Please note, if you were previously on the Voluntary mailstring or wish to be on it now, you need to sign up. The mailstring was wiped out when we moved our site.

**With the number of new houses and individuals growing every day, it has become necessary to ask people attending markets to declare their affiliation so that market attendance checks are issued to the right places. If you are hosting a market, it would make your job easier if you encourage those attending to comply with this request.

Greetings and good eve to ye Naur... I was hoping to have a word or
two with ye... about your shop ::Checks her notes:: Uialtum
General Store... We would like to gather some information
for the Merchant Spotlight in the QCC Newsletter.
Naur
Lina:
"Amin?" She blinked, a little surprised. "Lle need to
buy something arwen?" A sale! She would be on her best
behavior. "Lle llok like lle need something special!"
QCC:
::Listening carefully, and repeating it mentally for several
seconds, then a cautious nod:: Ye have many fine itemes in
your shop. Does it's name have a meaning?
Naur
Lina:
"Uma" She nodded, the large pice of chocolate that she got
from her easter basket from Madje set carefully back in it's place.
"It mean.." She had to pause now to think. A single finger
tapping lightly on her chin. "Twilight Valley?" another
nod, confirming her words.
QCC:
A lovely name. I see ye stock a wide variety of items as well.
How do ye decide what ye shall be stocking and selling?
Naur
Lina:
"Diola lle, arwen!" A lopsided grin was given. "Amin
just like to travel and find new things from other places. That how
amin get things to sell."
QCC:
Ahh ::nodding slightly:: Would that make some of the items
then one of a kind?
Naur
Lina:
"Uma! Some things amin can numa find again. Some things come
sai at a time. The silks are made by elves." She watched the
woman for a moment "Lle know, amin think lle look sai vanima in
silks. Lle should come try them."
QCC:
::chuckling:: I might at that... Tell me, what led ye to
the idea of opening the Uialtum General Store?
Naur
Lina:
"Well when amin live in Telarus, amin numa have much to do and
amin want to take care of amin. So Sia help amin to build a store
and that how amin survive." She let her gaze drift to the
basket near by then back to the woman. It's rude not to offer
something to a guest, so leaning over her own basket, she lifted
Chan's and held it out to Des. "Are lle hungry, arwen?"
QCC:
::She selected a few jelly beans:: Thank ye. ::Checks
her list of questions again:: Is there anything special ye
would like to tell the members of the QCC about your shop?
Naur
Lina:
"Uma, amin have sai things to sell and amin try to make sure
that everyone can buy them. Sage tell amin that amin cheap but amin
numa cheap, arwen. Amin a quel arwen." She nodded. The nerve of
Sage to even consider such a thing!
QCC:
Amin a quel arwen? I fear I do naut understand the last....
Are ye trying to say that ye have priced your items
reasonably?
Naur
Lina:
"Numa be afraid arwen! Amin numa hurt lle." A small frown
as she listened. "Uma, that what amin say!" She laughed.
"Amin say that Amin numa, cheap and numa listen to Sage
too." She didn't get the understanding that Sage was refering
to reasonably priced items and that she wasn't a hussy.
QCC:
::blink blink:: Aye... I shall do my utmost to ne'er
listen to Sage. ::Checks her list:: Ye mentioned your silks... and I
do see ye have some lovely dresses in stock. What are other
popular sellers?
Naur
Lina:
"Ohh people like the black rose dress! But, sai people just buy
the length of silk to were like amin do." She stood, making a
slow turn so that Des could see the long length of purple,
translucent silk wrapped about her tiny frame.
QCC:
Very lovely indeed. ::smiling:: One final question.
Would ye be planning any specials or sales, or changes to your shop
in the near future?
Naur
Lina:
"Amin numa ever thought about a sale." She pondered that
for a moment. "That a quel idea, arwen! So amin answer is uma,
amin planning it... now." Laughing she let her hand dive into
her basket and recover a piece of chocolate.
QCC:
Then I shall certainly be keeping an eye out for that sale.
And I do thank ye for your time.
Naur
Lina:
"Diola lle, arwen for coming to visit. If amin can ever help
lle with anything, seas just ask." Pausing she had to add
in a little something else... "Well amin numa good with dragon
hunting... lle need to see Aou'me for that."
QCC:
I shall remember that as well. And again thank ye.

"Alluve, arwen." She gave a small bow.

QCC Voluntary Mailstring
This mailing list is made up of QCC members who have consented to be on it. With the ease of use afforded by the web based QCC Member List, the Council has decided to open the list up to all QCC members. Up until now, we restricted it to GCs and treasurers because of the constraints put on us by AOL's mail system rate limits. Taking the mail list away from AOL has been just one more step in freeing the QCC from such constraints.
Any QCC members who wish to be on the QCC Members' Mail List to receive QCC Updates directly from the Council should send a note to council@questcoin.com to be added to the list. This does not take the place of the Voluntary Mail List. Sign-up for the Voluntary Mail List is still self service and you'll find the sign-up page here: QCC Voluntary Mailstring
