((ALL MEMBERS, PLEASE READ:

As we recover from the migration nightmare, we are making changes and improvements that we hope you will appreciate and utilize.  There are still some issues with the mailing lists, but those are being ironed out and the mailing lists should be functioning properly very shortly.  Along those lines, if you were signed up on the Voluntary mailing list (or would like to be), please send me a note and I'll have you reinstated to that list.

The [ QCC Message Board ] is again available and we highly encourage everyone to use it.  It is a powerful platform for roleplaying and that is what we are all here for, isn't it?  Again, any Houses that are looking for a message board but cannot find something they like, the QCC is willing to host your board for you.  Just contact me directly on this.

PLEASE NOTEIf you attend a QCC function (events, racing, market, etc), you MUST identify yourself in the following manner:  ((Representing NA)) or whatever house you are representing.  If you are an independent, you must identify yourself as:  ((Representing Independent)).  If you do not use the word "Representing", you will NO LONGER get credit for attendance.  The logs are too long for us to go through line by line to find out who is there.  This is a requirement, without exception.

Finally, I direct your attention to a new program for those who wish to participate - the ability to help fund the questcoin.com site.  Please proceed to [ QCC Support ] for more information, and remember, it is an OPTION, not a requirement.))

As always, your suggestions and comments are both welcomed and encouraged.

How do I host a Market?
It's easy!  There is now a new section at the QCC site under Trade for Market Hosting FAQ's

**With the number of new houses and individuals growing every day, it has become necessary to ask people attending markets to declare their affiliation so that market attendance checks are issued to the right places.  If you are hosting a market, it would make your job easier if you encourage those attending to comply with this request.

MERCHANT SPOTLIGHT

For this month's Merchant's Quarter I interviewed the gracious owner of Eastern Whispers, Channery Tearlach.  For those of you not familiar with her wares, I highly suggest you check them out.

QCC:   "Please, if thee would not mind ... I will start with a few simple ones.  What made thee choose the name Eastern Whispers for thy shop?"

Channery :  "In my world, my homeland, a whisper is heard far more easily than a shout.  I am of the East.. and wished to give credit to the Ancestors Mistress."

QCC:  "That is a lovely thought.  Could thee tell me of the inspiration for the works of art that thee create and offer?"

Channery :  "Inspiration.  I am far from a master, though I do try. My teachers taught me to attempt to capture the stillness within each being..its peace. However, my memories are not still. My lines seem to bring the movement of the moment that is held in my memory.  Some memories, need to be seen by others, so that the joy can be shared."

QCC:  "While thee have a newer shop in the Quest Coin Coalition, it seems that thee have met with a bit of success thus far.  Would thee have any advice for someone wishing to start their own business?"

Channery :   "Mistress, I was most surprised by how much my small talent pleased those that came to my shop. It was very hard to go to market, to be that bold, but it most assuredly helped. Also, Mistress Des, I asked her to please visit Eastern Whispers before I opened the doors. She was most..she praised the paintings and offered her .. ex.  Expertness? No..Expertise?  She gave good advice.. told me to come to market.. A very special Lady"

QCC:  "Uma, that is, yes, my 'seler is a very special Lady.  Would thee mind telling us a bit more about thy shop?  Perhaps what one that is unfamiliar with thy wares might expect to see?"

Channery :  "I offer watercolors and embroidery, and with time, calligraphy. I attempt to have the pieces framed, with a pleasing combination, to compliment the works. I attempt to do special works, I think commissions, is the right word, for those that have a special gift in mind for someone."

QCC:  "Thank thee for answering my few short questions.  I want to thank thee for thy time, and thy hospitality as well."

If you would like to have your shop featured in Merchant's Corner, please contact Rae NAlsia.

ABOUT OUR MAILSTRINGS

QCC Voluntary Mailstring

This mailing list is made up of QCC members who have consented to be on it. The purpose of this list is to allow business announcements and flyers to be sent to those groups and individuals that welcome the information and intend to distribute it to their members. This mailing list does not replace any mailing lists compiled by individual businesses or event hosts from their own patrons and customers.

Being a member of the QCC does not automatically put you on this list! It is by request only. Sign yourself up if you want to receive Voluntary mailings.

Mail List Alert

If you receive mail list alerts for any of the QCC mail lists, please forward them to council@questcoin.com. Sometimes when we are updating the mail lists, an SN gets put back into the signup list. That auto-generates a privacy alert that gets mailed to you. If you'll forward those alerts to the council, we'll know you got it. It was most likely triggered by something we did; but if we didn't do it, we'll certainly want to know. :)

QCC Member Mail List

With the ease of use afforded by the web based QCC Member List, the Council has decided to open the list up to all QCC members. Up until now, we restricted it to GCs and treasurers because of the constraints put on us by AOL's mail system rate limits. Taking the mail list away from AOL has been just one more step in freeing the QCC from such constraints.

Any QCC members who wish to be on the QCC Members' Mail List to receive QCC Updates directly from the Council should send a note to council@questcoin.com to be added to the list. This does not take the place of the Voluntary Mail List. Sign-up for the Voluntary Mail List is still self service and you'll find the sign-up page here:
QCC Voluntary Mailstring

**Mail List Notes: We don't care if the addresses on the mail lists are for RP characters or not. If you have AIM characters and you want to put a non-RP address on the mail lists to get the QCC notices, that's fine with us.
