A recent trend regarding representation has become apparent, which leads the Council to clarifying the following rule. From this point on, if you are registered as an Independent with the QCC, you cannot represent a House for purposes of meeting attendance requirements and/or obtaining the attendance coins which are paid to Houses. This is not to say you cannot represent a House in an event such as the jousting circuit or Festival of Beltane. It also does not mean you cannot be an Independent and a member of a QCC House. By all means, you can. Independent members simply will not be able to represent a House that they are associated with for purposes of meeting attendance requirements or obtaining attendance payouts for that House. Any questions on this matter can be directed to any of the Council members. Your QCC High Council is working hard, as always, to bring you bigger and better events and ways to interact with your fellow QCC members. We appreciate all the support and input that we receive from our growing community. As always, your suggestions and comments are both welcomed and encouraged.

you would like to host a future market, How
do I host a Market? **With the number of new houses and individuals growing every day, it has become necessary to ask people attending markets to declare their affiliation so that market attendance checks are issued to the right places. If you are hosting a market, it would make your job easier if you encourage those attending to comply with this request.

Des:
::Smile
in place, Des approached the Crow:: Madje? Have ye a
moment?
Madje: ::Madje had been out at the back of Kami's estate taking inventory and scribbling down orders of what needed to be bought for the next two weeks. With winter coming up, there'd be less opportunity for grazing in the pasture... He'd decided to stop outside the tackroom and get a breath of fresh air when Des came into view. "Oh! Lady Sunhaven! Hello, what brings you out to Free Cove? Please, step into my, uh, office?" Motioning toward the door to the tackroom, he braced himself against a sudden gale of cold autumn wind. Des: ::He might have noticed the pad in her hand, but he'd certainly notice the trio of Shadow Guards that had ridden here with her. One was holding HT's reins while they all were busy looking around carefully. Des was able to go where she wanted when she wished, but she wasn't foolish and Auden insisted she not travel alone. :: I was hoping ye might have a few moments to answer a few questions? We have selected The Wishing Well Pet Shoppe for the Monthly Merchant Spotlight. Madje: Uh oh....? ::The young Crow's feathers bristled for a moment when he glanced up and saw the guards with her. His fears that he'd done something were allayed when she spoke next, and his cheeks suffused with pink when Des mentioned her intent. Laughing softly, he nodded a little and grinned, "Oh, certainly! What an honor it is to be interviewed! Everyone at the QCC does a really terrific job, honestly." Des: Why thank ye. We do try. ::she glanced down at her pad, then back up to Madje:: What would ye like to tell us about The Wishing Well Pet Shoppe and it's stock? Madje: "Keep up the great job, we wouldn't be here without you!" Madje chirruped happily, tipping forward in a little bow and leaning up against the wall of the tackroom and chewed on his lip. "Stock? Well, the store itself is still being built, so I'm running it out of Stolen Gold's stalls, the tackroom, and to my Sister's inconvenience, our house down the way. I'm limited to space, but pretty soon I'll have a good variety of animals. For now, I have a handful of rather large herding/protection dogs known as Libetian Mastiffs and Lionbergers, which are similar, but don't grow quite as big. The mastiffs have been recorded to weigh as much as 220 pounds, if you can imagine that! I also have two families of Maremmas, which are renown herding dogs, who bond very closely with farm animals and help raise the young of the herd. I just received a shipment of kittens and cats from Crowsea through my Captain earlier today. They're in the tackroom now cozying up on the haybales, or lounging around the brazier getting settled in. I have a large selection of jewelfish, which I'm thinking about trying to breed again - one of the cats managed to sneak into my fishroom and I lost a batch of juveniles, unfortunately. I also carry containers and tanks for the jewelfish, as well as a selection of koi for my water garden and fountain shop, and turtles. When the building is complete, I'll be stocking a number of rodents, amphibians, reptiles, cats, dogs, and I'll need to hire a couple cute shop employees to help me run all of this, too. I recently visited a ceramics shop in Crowsea, and I'll be bringing in a number of decorative feeding or watering bowls. There will also be plenty of cat toys, scratching posts, pet-safe plants to nosh on, cat-sized furniture - things like that. I expect everything to be ready by next week or so - and I also take personal suggestions and requests if anyone is looking for anything special. I'm really excited, there's going to be a full-sized, walk-in terrarium and several rooms dedicated to cats and dogs where they're able to have free range, and visitors can go inside andplay with them all. I also have a number of rescue animals, and I'll be bringing in horses from the slaughterhouse on occasion as I can rescue them." Panting for breath, he stopped to let Des speak again... Des: ::She was busy taking notes, the Crow didn't seem to be even running out of breath, and he kept going and going, if she had this assignment again she was going to bring a recording orb! .He paused, and a few more scribbles were completed and she looked up, and asked the next question.:: And what led ye to the idea of opening the Wishing Well? Madje: "Oh," when Des' hand was most likely cramping from trying to scribble all of that down, he added, "Wishing Well Pets is also run on donations where the animals are concerned - if someone bonds with an animal, there's no amount too low or two high in exchange for that happiness. Hm, as for what lead to this idea, I've always loved animals - I think most people do - and there are a lot of families here in Free Cove who were asking for mousers for their households, barns, or grain stores. My Captain has a few families of cats who live on her ship to take care of the rodents. Ever since I was a little boy traveling onboard Adja's ship, the cats used to keep me company when I was sad, or sleep with me to keep me warm. Cats and dogs are really sympathetic animals, and I'd just like to help animals find families and homes who'd really appreciate them. The jewelfish habit started when I had first tried to sell at one of the QCC's markets. I had asked Adja, that is, my Captain, if she had anything that I could sell at last minute notice - well, she sends me a cartful of these glittering, shiny, sparkly, fascinating little fish. That was the end of that, ah ha..." He scratched at his chin lightly, chuckling as he thought over it. Des: ::More scribbling and nodding, then she looked up:: And are you planning anything special for the upcoming Solstice? Madje: "Solstice! Ah, yes! I was planning on having more puppies brought in for those special presents, and stocking-stuffers for pets, maybe some of those silly hats, booties for cold weather, warm blankets, and maybe even sleds for sled dogs. Don't ask me how to stop your dogs unless you have an official dogsled - it has a handbreak-, because once Vidu and I hitched Jede's hound up when we were kids, and there was no way that dog was stopping when he saw that squirrel! Oh, qua!" Chuckling quietly, he paused to reach down and pick up the silver kitten with black leopard spots poking his head out through the cat-sized door at the lower half of the tackroom's door. Petting Armand with a grin, he remembered speaking with Sabine and added, "And Dreamweaver Gifts has inspired me to put together animal-related gift boxes and baskets, too!" Des: ::The cat was smiled at, and then notes completed the pad was placed into a pocket of her skirt. :: I shall be looking forward to seeing them, as Auden had two pups of his own now. I do thank ye for your time.... and I shall get this interview in to the next Update. If you have any questions about our
Merchant Spotlight,
please contact the Council or Rae Bonatti.

Mail List Alert QCC Member Mail List With the ease of use afforded by the web based QCC Member List, the Council has decided to open the list up to all QCC members. Up until now, we restricted it to GCs and treasurers because of the constraints put on us by AOL's mail system rate limits. Taking the mail list away from AOL has been just one more step in freeing the QCC from such constraints. Any QCC members who wish
