From the Commissioner's Desk...

 

  I am pleased to say the second Sale Barn Auction was a resounding success, with the Rank 2, 2, and 1 Racers finding new owners and stables.  The silent auction continues for the available Rank 0 racers, and concludes on 8/13 at 11:59 pm est.

  As mentioned in the Announcer's Corner and in a previous QCC Newsletter as well we are seeking additional announcers. Any who try their hand at announcing in a training session shall earn 300 qcoins, simply for taking the training and giving it a try.

((On an OOC note, attendance is required by stable owners, and Houses and Independents are paid for participation at the Races.  Entering the chat room, declaring your affiliation and/or stable, doing an entrance line and then going silent is *not* attending or participating, and it will not be paid or counted as such.  While there are no specific required lines of text for example, interaction and participation are needed.))

Most announcers call four races on a night and make 400 coins for an hour of time.

  Race announcers earn §100 per race. Call it hazard pay, or combat pay if you will... but announcing isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, and we want to give a bonus to those who do it so faithfully every month.
  We are currently looking to expand the backup pool of racing announcers. Anyone who is interested in trying their hand at it in a training session can earn 300 qcoins.
  If, after completing the training, you don't feel its something you do not wish to do, you'll still be paid for your time and effort.  If you enjoy announcing and its earning potential, we'll add you to our list and may call on you when our regular announcers find themselves unavailable. Contact the Council if you'd like to schedule a training session.

The "Best of the Best" Championship Series runs over the course of one year (or six racing seasons), using cumulative results to determine which racers have performed well enough to race in the Championship Series races. Three times per year, the ten best racers come together to determine just who the "Best of the Best" is.  The Contender List below allows Members to follow the Equine Racers who are vying for position in the next race in the Classic Challenge Series.

Total purse for each race:
First - §400
Second - §250
Third - §150

Add §100 for Rank 1 races,
§200 for Rank 2 races,
§300 for Rank 3 races,
§400 for Rank 4 races,
$500 for Rank 5 races,
etc.

 How ties are decided:
Two firsts:
Purses for first and second place added together, then divided equally.

Two seconds:
Purses for 2nd and 3rd place added together, then divided equally.

Two thirds:
Purse is divided equally.
