1 - stable representation.  As a QCC announcer, you act as a representative of the QCC, and have already proven the time and care you've invested in the racing circuit by having a fully established stable page setup, if you are a stable owner.  This can include full descriptions of the racers, their breeding, how they were obtained, racing records and earnings, and other textual or photographic information.

Examples by current announcers: Desert Winds
, Halcyon , Piedra De la Travesia , Shadow Guardian Stables , Vinddense

2 - knowledge of racing pages.  As an announcer, you may well be approached often with racing questions. Announcers must show prior knowledge of where certain information can be found on the QCC site for questions like creating/expanding a stable, registration questions, vet deadlines, etc. We'd prefer you not try to answer them yourself, simply act as a referral to where the information is posted. The other alternative is to refer them to a QCC council member.

3 - established history of compliance, if an owner.  As an announcer you should be an example to other stable owners and be prompt with all expected paper work, thorough on things such as registrations, attendance requirements, and have files kept to use as example. This also includes things like race logs ( which people often request if they missed attending ).

1 - training session.  All training of potential new announcers is to be done by a member of the QCC Council.  This gives applicants a thorough chance to understand expectations and ask questions.

2 - trial run.  Potential announcer will be given a 6 horse race and will be asked to do a complete run through of it in 15 minutes or less. This will include all lineup information, race start, and all laps with text descriptions of the progress.  Accuracy in math is a must, as is skill in vocabulary and spelling.

3 - log examples.  After the trial run, an announcers log must be sent for the practice race, as if it were an actual race night. This must be done with proper headings etc as taught during the training session.

r a c e   n i g h t s :

1 - availability.  Announcers are obviously needed on a monthly basis, and we hope to have members of the announcer's pool who will be available more than a couple times during the year, and those who are flexible enough to jump in at a moments notice if a scheduled announcer has an emergency.

2 - conduct.  Promptness is a requirement, as races already run late into the evening. While we are not going to police your rp, we prefer favoritism not be shown during announcing, nor off color commentary. Race calling should not be simply cut and pasted brevity, but an accurate reflection of the die rolls in progress.

3 - follow through.  After announcing, it is expected that all race logs, with their proper headings, are sent in as soon as possible that same night. With around 500 horses in the QCC, each requires more than one council member to track their injuries/results on more than one page or spreadsheet. This cumulates into LITERALLY over 7000 notations made regarding finish, bonus adjustments, new ranking, general stats and percentages. And that's just one season. Your promptness is a necessity in getting things done.

Your impartiality towards stables, including your own, is a logical expectation. Should you receive specific racing questions from members, again please know where to refer them on the site for what they are seeking, or send them to a council member for an answer.
