Greetings and welcome to the Quest Coin Coalition Turf Club.
The pages before you contain the fruits of an ongoing labor of love. This
project has been more than two years in the making and continues daily with
revisions, updates and additions. It has been at times both frustrating and
fulfilling in the extreme. Collected here are the names, pedigrees, ownership
records and progeny of nearly every racehorse since the inception of QCC Racing.
Many of them are still with us, either in the breeding shed or actively racing
and it is with the goal in mind of furthering the breeding programs of our
members that this Registry is presented.
The astounding amount of raw information that was available has been carefully
sifted and sorted into five different classifications, or studbooks, within
the Registry itself. The five books are Foundation, Premium, Main, Appendix
and Auxiliary and each has its own criteria for admission.
The Foundation Book is the only one of the five books that is closed, that
is to say that no other horses will be accepted into its pages. To be included
in the Foundation Book, a horse must have been registered to race with the
QCC Racing Commission in the first year of racing. This book serves two purposes,
one being to celebrate the accomplishments of our most longstanding stables
and two, to further the goal of encouraging quality breeding among the current
and future members of QCC Racing. While it is no longer possible to gain entry
to the Foundation Book, Foundation parentage is the key to entry in both the
Premium and Main Books of the Registry.
The first open book of the Registry is the Premium Book. A horse that is eligible
for Premium registration is the product of two registered parents, one of
which must be Foundation registered. The other parents can be registered in
any of the other books, or be Foundation registered as well. While not every
horse of elite breeding will perform to the level of his parents, as the saying
goes, "Blood will tell."
The second open book of the Registry is the Main Book. A horse is eligible
for Main Book status if both parents are registered with the Turf Club in
any one of the four open books: Premium, Main, Appendix or Auxiliary. Foundation
parentage is not required for entry into this book
The third open book of the Registry is the Appendix Book. Eligibility for
Appendix Book status only requires that one parent be registered in any of
the open books.
The fourth open book of the Registry is the Auxiliary Book. All registered
QCC racehorses are automatically eligible for entry into this book and it
is the stepping stone for Quest Coin breeders to gain access to horses in
the more elite books of the Registry.
The current Secretary of the Registry is Belladonna Maddox and she has spent
countless hours collecting, verifying and sorting the information you are
about to peruse for the wider benefit of all the participants in Quest Coin
Coalition Racing. This is by no means a completed work of any sort. QCC Racing
continues to grow and change almost daily and it would be nearly impossible
for a single person to keep up with the staggering amount of information that
is generated by a single change or addition. Your patience and input is greatly
appreciated. Corrections and additions to the information contained here are
always welcome, as are questions. If you are the owner of a newer stable and
you do not see your horses included in the Auxiliary book or in other books
where appropriate, you are encouraged to contact the Secretary and provide
this information. Please direct any and all inquiries to the Secretary herself
(roseofmalice@aol.com).
[OOC, with regards to horses that have changed stables, the earliest information
found regarding the horse is considered the correct information. If you purchased
a QCC racehorse at an earlier Sale Barn and did not receive any information
whatsoever about it, this is your chance to update or correct your stable
pages.]
