Prospective buyers are
free to examine the horses for sale. Please arrive no more than two days
prior to the sale and be sure to bring any of your advisors with you such
as veterinarian, trainer or bloodstock agent. Consignors will have agents
available at the barns to bring the horses out for inspection at buyer's
request. [Roleplay of these examinations to be arranged at the whim of the
players directly involved.]
At the time of the sale, the horses will
be led from the barns to the walking ring. There, buyers will have the opportunity
to inspect the horse one last time before bidding begins. Once the horse is
led into the sales ring, the auctioneer will ask for an opening bid, if no
reserve has been posted.
The horse legally changes ownership at
the fall of the auctioneer's hammer.
Buyers must have established credit with
the Turf Club prior to the sale's beginning in order to bid. [You will need
to supply the auctioneer with the link to your official QCCT page prior to
the start of the sale. If you bid over the stated amount in your treasury
you will have 48 hours to beg, borrow or steal the amount of QCoins to make
up the difference and update your treasury to reflect that change.]
Buyer's established credit limit with
the Turf Club will remain private. [The OOC reality of this IC rule is that
it is perfectly fine to pool your character's coins with as many other characters
as you choose. The wealthy may back the less-wealthy as well as each other.
That is the nature of the game. As long as the funds are verifiable and can
be traced by the auctioneer back to their source within 48 hours of the sale,
no rules have been broken.]
If the sale is not completed by the highest
bidder [i.e. no verifiable funds within 48 hours], ownership reverts to the
Consignor who then has the right to offer the horse to the next highest bidder
at the price of their last bid.
The QCC Transfer fee is waived for all
registered racehorses sold in the Pavilion.
There is no limit to the number of horses
that may be purchased by any buyer. With regards to QCC registered racehorses,
there is no limit on the number purchased, however current regulations regarding
additions to racing stables still apply. [i.e. You can buy 10 registered racehorses
at the sale, but you are still only allowed to add 2 per season to your racing
lineup.]
With regards to the purchase of registered
QCC racehorses, should the Buyer's stable be removed from the QCC Racing Commission
for any reason, ownership reverts to the original Seller. Likewise, should
the Buyer fail to attempt to enter a registered racehorse within three seasons
of purchase, Buyer forfeits ownership of the horse to the original Seller.
